By train from the Hydroelectric station
By train from the Hydroelectric station:
Take a collective taxi from Santa Teresa to the Hydroelectric station,
and take the train to Aguas Calientes. Buy your train ticket in advance in Santa Teresa – tickets aren't sold at the station. Trains for Peruvians depart at 8:30 am and 4:35 pm, and for foreigners at 4:35 p.m. Depending on which train you catch, you can either stay on the same train to continue to Ollantaytambo, or change train in Aguas Calientes. The ride from the Hydroelectric station to Aguas Calientes takes an hour. From here, take the train to Ollantaytambo (about 2 ½ hours). From Ollantaytambo you can take a collective taxi to the city of Cusco.
